A unique figure on the international scene, with regards to both solos and chamber, some of the most important contemporary composers have dedicated works to the violist Anna Serova, creating for her a new genre of composition, uniting the concert format with the stage action of a theatrical work. Worthy of mention, for example, are the extraordinary dramatic cantata "Fero Dolore" and the lyric tragedy "Giocasta" by Azio Corghi. In the last, playing and reciting on the stage, Anna Serova plays the part of Destiny. After having studied with Vladimir Stopicev (Post-graduate training at the Conservatory of St. Petersburg), with Giuranna (Accademia W. Stauffer in Cremona) and Juri Bashmet (Accademia Chigiana in Siena), she began a brilliant concert career that has taken her to starring roles in some of the most important concert seasons and music festivals in Italy and abroad.

Because of the rare beauty of her sound, and her remarkable artistic flexibility, Anna Serova is highly sought-after for chamber music. Among her partners have been Ivry Gitlis, Bruno Giuranna, Salvatore Accardo, Rocco Filippini, Filippo Faes, and Toby Hoffmann. She has performed as a soloist with orchestras such as the Moscow State Symphony Orchestra, the Siberian Symphony Orchestra, Karelia Symphony Orchestra, Krasnoyarsk Chamber Orchestra, Arkhangelsk State Chamber Orchestra, the Orchestra di Padova e del Veneto, and the Orchestra del Teatro Olimpico. Various of her recordings have received good reviews from the critics as well as prizes and recognitions. In 2007 her CD "Schumann racconta", recorded with the Ensemble Punto It, received 5 stars from the journal "MUSICA", which reviewed it among the exceptional CDs of the month. In 2005 the mayor of Krasnojarsknamed Anna Serova "Cultural Ambassador of the City”. Thanks to her efforts, a Protocol of Intent was signed between Cremona and Krasnojarsk, allowing the organisation of cultural, commercial and administrative exchanges between the vast region of Central Siberia and Italy.

She is constantly invited to teach master classes in the leading academies of Russia and Europe. She is currently a teacher of Viola and Chamber Music at the Accademia Internazionale di Biella.
