Baritone. Born in Genova, he awarded his diploma at the Conservatorio di musica N. Paganini; later he carried on with his singing studies with Fernando Bandera, Tristano Illersberg and Giuseppe Murmura. He also graduated in modern literature at Genova University. His career started in 1988 with Nino Rota’s La notte di un nevrastenico and I due timidi and right away he made his début in the Pesaro Rossini Opera Festival with La gazza ladra and La scala di seta. In 2008-9 he played Conte Almaviva in Nozze di Figaro in Nice, Dublin and Vicenza, Scarpia and Nabucco in Plovdiv, Escamillo (Carmen) in Paris and Frankfurt, Amica by Mascagni in Opera Roma, La muerte de Garcilaso by Chapi in Izmir and Toledo, Madama Butterfly in Paris and Aix les Bains, Tosca in Cannes. Furthermore in 2010 Capuleti e Montecchi in Dublin, Tosca in Limoges, Aida in Versailles, Traviata in Eutiner Festspiele, Pollicino in Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, Cavalleria rusticana and Pagliacci in Frankfurt open air. From 2004 to 2009 he was Intendant and Artistic Manager of the Rovigo Teatro Sociale. From 2011 to 2016 he was Artistic Manager of the Pisa ‘Fondazione Teatro Verdi’. As stage director he made important operatic productions all over the world: he has just finished Puccini’s Trittico in Osaka (Japan), and Verdi’s Rigoletto in Florence, Traviata in Catania, Mascagni’s Cavalleria rusticana in Giglio Island and Aleko and Jolanta in Slovakia National Theatre. He made also stage direction of modern opera sas Fortunato’s “Salvo D’acquisto” in teatro Verdi Pisa or Baroque as Pergolesi’s Il Flaminio in Firenze and Pisa and La serva padrona in Pisa. University professor, as a singing teacher he was principal teacher in La Spezia, Alessandria, Udine and Ferrara Music Conservatory. At present he is University Professor in Rovigo, Venezze Conservatory. He was Theatre Management Teacher by Teatro Alla Scala Milano Academy. He is Principal of a big singing Academy called “Lippi and friends”: there are 118 professionals singing in theatre all over the world who are studying with him in this academy. Since years he gives singing Master Classes in several parts of the world like Kiev Ciaikovski Academy, Shangai, Chengdu, Osaka, Saint Ptersburg, San Josè de Costarica and several Italian cities. As a writer, he published more than 20 essays about operas, novels and poetry books.
